We, the Birds, children aged 7 to 11 years old (2nd to 5th Grade of Primary School), meet at a fixed place called “Hestia” once a week (at a fixed time and day) for two hours from September to June. Our Troop is called “Sminos” and operates under the guidance and collective responsibility of 2-3 adult volunteers known as Leaders. These Leaders are not only fun and enthusiastic but also appropriately trained to effectively fulfill the aims of the Greek Guiding Association. Their role is to ensure that our gatherings are engaging, purposeful and aligned with the principles of the Association.
Each meeting comprises various thematic modules, which are carefully designed to cater for the ideas and wishes of the Birds. This approach ensures that our experiences are meaningful and reflect our interests and needs.
Our term culminates in a Camp where we spend seven to eight days in a safe natural environment and actively participate in the Pedagogical Guiding Programme.
